Glen Spey was first called Millhaugh and was built in 1878 by James Stuart under the name of “Mill of Rothes”. James Stuart was a grain merchant before he ventured into the whisky world. In 1887 the Glen Spey distillerie was sold to the Gilbey company. There followed a period of much unhappiness, for example the roof collapsed after heavy snowfall. In 1962, W&A Gilbey Company merged with United Wine Traders, the owners for the production of J&B Whisky and in 1969, the number of stills were increased from two to four.

Fruity nose with notes of grass and white grapes. Taste: fruity sweet with elegant acidity and a good freshness. The finish is rather medium with a hint of chocolate and light coconut.
